CAMP OLIVAS -- Armed men riding a van hijacked a delivery truck loaded with Argentine soybean meals worth P700,000 along Jose Abad Santos Avenue in Barangay San Isidro, Lubao, Pampanga recently.
In a police report, a truck loaded with 22.2 tons of soybean meals was driven by Eduardo Caligagan, 45, of Barangay Poblacion, Porac, was traveling along the avenue when a white Toyota van without a plate number blocked their way near the San Isidro Bridge.
This prompted the driver to stop the truck and four armed men wearing black bonnets alighted from the van, forcibly commandeering the delivery truck at gunpoint, the report said.
Caligagan and his helper Rodolfo Abierta were tied, blindfolded and placed them at the back of the truck.
After minutes of traveling, the victims were transferred to the van until they were dumped at the Bypass Road in Barangay Parulan, Plaridel, Bulacan.
Police said the victims managed to untie themselves and sought assistance from local residents there.
The victims were able to contact their employer Joel Domingo at the Walter Martin Plaridel, Bulacan.
After the victims reported the incident to Plaridel Police, they were turned over to Lubao Police Station. (Ric Sapnu)
