'Auring' weakens into LPA; storm signals lifted

THE Philippine Atmospheric, Geophysical and Astronomical Services Administration (Pagasa) has lifted the storm warning signals, as Tropical Depression "Auring" weakened into a low pressure area (LPA) Monday morning, January 9.

In its 11 a.m. weather bulletin, Pagasa located the LPA at 40 kilometers east of Mactan, Cebu.

Pagasa said the LPA is still expected to bring moderate to occasionally heavy rains over Bicol Region and Samar provinces.

Pagasa added moderate rains and isolated thunderstorms are expected over Calabarzon, Marinduque, Romblon, and other provinces of Mindoro. (Nicko Tubo/Sunnex)
