Authorities nab Surigao's top NPA leader

GOVERNMENT forces arrested on Saturday a key leader of the New People's Army (NPA) in Surigao City, who was allegedly responsible for the attacks made against the military troops in the province.

Spokesperson of the 30th Infantry Battalion 2nd Lieutenant Jonnel Castillo said Arpel Rabago, also known as Kumander Yoyo, was arrested after he was identified by the troops while onboard a motorcycle trying to pass through a check point.

He sais Rabago is the vice commander of the NPA Command Front Committee 16, Northeastern Mindanao Region.

He also has a standing warrants for frustrated and attempted murder issued by the Surigao City Regional Trial court in 2016. (SunStar Philippines)
