Bacolod City bares zonal garbage collection

A NEW zonal garbage collection system created by the Bacolod City Solid Waste Management Board and private collector Enviroking Corp. was announced by Executive Assistant Ma. Fe Trespuentes yesterday.

Included in the separate collection are routes along Burgos Streets, downtown area, Magsaysay Street, Taculing Road, Mabini and Galo Streets, the span of Lacson Street, San Juan Street, B.S. Aquino Drive, Sum-ag and Tangub Highway, and Circumferential Road and Burgos Extension leading to Barangay Vista Alegre.

The zonal collection is a collective answer to the complaint of many city residents on irregular waste collection.

“We have already established our first phase. Once our constituents are accustomed to the zonal collection, we will immediately implement segregated collection,” Trespuentes said.

Zone 1 will cover the whole of Barangay Banago, Barangay 1, Barangay Mandalagan, Barangay 5 and a portion of Barangay Bata, alongside subdivision Santa Clara, Mountain View Eroreco and La Salle Area;

Zone 2 - upper portion of Barangay Bata, Barangay Estefania, Homesite, Barangay Montevista and Barangay Granda and its corresponding subdivisions;

Zone 3 - portion of Barangay 17, SM area, Libertad St., Barangay 35, Barangay Singcang, and a portion of Barangays 15, 19, 20, 24, 27, 31, 32, 33, 38 and Taculing;

Zone 4 - areas surrounding the People’s House, Villa Angela Arcade, Helvetia Subdivision, Villa Angela, Dna. Gonzaga, Buena Park, Villa Felicidad, Lopue’s Village, Villa Soledad, portion of Barangay Granda, Abada Escay, Oasis Subdivision, Barangay Vista Alegre, Ceres compound, a portion of Barangay Mansilingan, Victorina Heights, Rosario Subdivision, Bangga Alit, Eufemia compound, Granada Haven and Glendel Homes.

Zone 5 - Green Plains Subdivision, John B. Lacson, ECC, Purok Pagasa, Alijis Hall, Olympia Village, Barangay Pahanocoy, Manville, Garden Ville in Tangub, Relocation Area (Tangub), Florence Ville, Firmville, Monte Villas, the left side of Barangay Sum-ag and Barangay Punta Taytay area; and.

Zone 6 - Fiesta Homes, part of Barangay Pahanocoy going to Barangay Cabug, part of Tomaro Road, Barangay Handumanan, La Salle Ville, St. Benilde, Woodside 1 and 2, DC 1,2 and 3, Panaad Park, Paglaum Village, right side of Barangay Sum-ag, NHA, Orola Subdivision, Regent Pearl, Barangay Mansilingan and Barangay Felisa area.

Haulers will collect biodegradable wastes on Mondays in Zones 1 and 2; Tuesdays, Zones 3 and 4; and Wednesdays Zones 5and 6, while non-biodegradables will be collected on Thursdays, Fridays and Saturdays, respectively.
