BACOLOD City Administrator John Orola is urging lechon or roasted pig vendors to secure a business permit.
Orola said this is needed to ensure that the consumer’s health is protected.
To obtain a business permot, vendors will have to obtain clearances from the Bureau of Fire Protection, City Health Office, among others.
Orola noted that illegal lechon activities also cause a fire incidents.
Moreover, Orola said the city government is planning to use the old slaughterhouse in Barangay 35 for lechon vendors.
The area is good for food and meat processing and to accommodate all the lechon vendors.
Moreover, Orola said they will also check the waste disposal facilities of various funeral parlors in the city.
He said all the funeral parlors including the hospital should have their own waste disposal facilities to secure a public health.
