Bacolod hospital gets ISO certification for quality management systems

THE Corazon Locsin Montelibano Memorial Regional Hospital (CLMMRH) in Bacolod City has been granted the International Standard Organization (ISO) Management Systems certification.

The certification was given to Doctor Julius Drilon, chief of hospital, in rites held at SMX Convention Center on Friday witnessed by Health Undersecretary Herminigildo Valle, Doctor Marlon Tabligan, hospital’s quality management representative, Doctor Nenita Dumaguit, hospital’s internal quality audit chairman, and Mark Andrew Golez from Anglo-Japanese American (AJA) Registrars Team, among others.

The plaque stated that the Management Systems of CLMMRH have been assessed by AJA Registrars and registered against the requirement of ISO 9001:2015.

The regional hospital has been granted such accreditation as they have provided the patients better quality services.

Drilon, in his message, thanked everyone who made them achieve such award.

"It is an honor and achievement to have such international standard which specify requirements for quality management system," Drilon said, adding that they are conquering another milestone to be a premier tertiary health care facility.

He said they will continue to work hand-in-hand in pursuing excellence not only for the Department of Health (DOH) but for the benefit of people whom they serve and owe the very purpose of the hospital's existence.

For his part, Valle described the hospital as "amazing and promising" as they are well-equipped with better facilities that can provide satisfaction to all their patients.

"This only means that they can provide better outcome as an institution," Valle said.

He mentioned the important attributes of quality – safety for patients and workers, sufficiency, patient centeredness, equitability, and timeliness of service that contributed to the achievement of the hospital.

"I see a great future for Bacolod City and Negros Occidental," Valle said.

He said that more enhanced facilities, including barangay health stations, rural health units, urban health centers and clinics, will be provided to local government units over the next five years.

Valle said we can provide resources to those hospitals that can provide immediate services to their patients.

“There is a budget of P228 billion approved by President Rodrigo Duterte for health facilities and enhancement program in the next five years,” he added.

Valle encouraged ISO-certified health institutions to continuously provide quality care and better services to the people.

The CLMMRH was also granted the ISO Medical Residency Training Certification in 2015, as an indication that the hospital provides quality patient care and quality training to aspiring health practitioners and workers.
