Robby Jalando-on and Mark de la Cruz scattered 13 points each in the final quarter to give defending champion Bad Boys a 99-97 win over GAB Sports to remain undefeated in the Probac Invitational 2nd Conference at STI-West Negros University gym in Bacolod City.
GAB Sports sizzled for a while with a 29-24 opening period spurt on Tommy Andren’s 12 points all from beyond the arc. Anthon Comoda dropped 10 points and Alphoe Jareno eight for the Bad Boys in that stretch.
De la Cruz waxed hot with 12 points in a 23-15 comeback run and the Bad Boys led 47-44 at the break.
Nonoy Pugoy flared up in the third quarter with 15 markers pushing GAB to a 28-16 surge and a 73-63 advantage at the end of the period.
De la Cruz spearheaded with 25 points as Jalando-on added 17, Jareno drilled in 14, and Ren-Ren Lacson, 10.
Andren knocked in 29 points, including eight triples for GAB Sports' losing effort. Pugoy backstopped with 23 and Comoda with 12.
In the other game, Bacolod Basketball Club-Toby’s bounced back with a 106-93 win over Boston Finance.
Rico Cabatu led BBC with 23 points supported by Jade Ayupan with 18 points and Little Cataluna with 15.
Jerald Abrot and Ryan Maningo led with 18 points apiece for Boston Finance as Eman Badillo added 13 markers and Jason Yap, 11.
