Baker nabbed for 'keeping' unlicensed firearms

UPDATED. -- Police caught a baker on Wednesday morning, December 12, for allegedly keeping unlicensed firearms in Sitio Ilaya, Barangay Panalipan, Catmon, Cebu.

Ricardo Santiago Ramos Jr. was caught by the operatives led by Provincial Intelligence Branch (PIB) Chief Joie Yape Jr.

A caliber .45 pistol loaded with four bullets were seized from Ramos.

The subject of the operation and Ramos's cohort, Marlon Aresco Butanas, was not in the house during the raid, which was authorized by a search warrant issued by Danao City Regional Trial Court Branch 25 Judge Jerry Dicdican.

The other evidence confiscated were .45 Colt with magazine loaded with four bullets; a Smith & Wesson Frontier revolver loaded with four 5.56 mm bullets; a sling bag containing four 5.56 mm bullets; a .22 rifle with scope and loaded with .22 bullet; a plastic container containing four .22 bullets; two KG9 submachine guns; Ingaram pistol, magazines, gun parts, a slug and ammunition.

PIB personnel were with the operatives of Regional Maritime Unit 7, Philippine Drug Enforcement Agency 7, Provincial Mobile Force Company, Provincial Special Weapons and Tactics and Catmon Police Station.

Suspects will be charged Republic Act 10591, or the Comprehensive Firearms and Ammunition Regulation Act. (KAL)
