Barangay Granada tops anti-rabies drive

BARANGAY Granada in Bacolod City was named as an outstanding barangay in the prevention and control of rabies in the community.

The award was given by Regional Rabies Prevention and Control Committee regional executive director for Western Visayas Remelyn Recoter and assistant secretary for the Visayas and Regulations Hansel Didulo in rites held at MO2 Westown Hotel in Iloilo City.

Barangay Granada chief Alfredo Talimodao Jr. received the award along with the other council members.

He said the campaign against the spread of rabies is necessary considering the health and financial risk that goes with it.

Dog bites need immediate vaccination and for one to avail of such vaccination, money is needed, thus the barangay ensures that they provide the right information to the residents in order to prevent and control the spread of rabies in their area.

They also urged pet owners to be responsible for taking good care of their pets as it’s a good preventive measure, he said.
