‘Basag-kotse’ suspect arrested, yields drugs

A NOTORIOUS car burglar was arrested after he robbed a resident of Murcia town on Gonzaga Street, Barangay 12, Bacolod City on Sunday.

Police identified the suspect as Roger Alquero, 44, of Purok Kagaykay, Barangay 2. He was also identified as the “basag-kotse” suspect in the area of Central Market.

Alquero was chased by policemen, who were patrolling at the downtown area, after they learned about the theft incident around 3 p.m. victimizing Norberto Palma, 59.

Police recovered from Alquero a .45 caliber pistol loaded with a magazine with six live ammunition.

Also confiscated by investigators from him were a sachet of suspected shabu (methamphetamine hydrochloride), an improvised tooter, and the stolen items.

Alquero was also positively identified by Palma at Police Station 1, where he is now detained.
