BFP-18 turns over staff to 2 regions

A TOTAL of 650 personnel of the Bureau of Fire Protection (BFP)-Negros Island Region (NIR) were distributed to Western and Central Visayas following the abolition of the NIR.

Senior Superintendent Fred Trajeras Jr., regional director of BFP-NIR, told SunStar Bacolod on Monday, September 18, he initiated the turnover of personnel at BFP regional headquarters in Iloilo City, where he was invited as guest speaker during the flag-raising ceremony.

Trajeras said 411 personnel will be under Western Visayas and 239 for Central Visayas.

He was joined by other fire officers in Negros Occidental during the turnover of personnel and resources.

Trajeras said he decided to hold the turnover earlier so that he can immediately report to his new assignment in the National Capital Region (NCR) by October 9.

“Clearing is still ongoing but we hope to settle everything before October 9,” he added.

Trajeras will be assigned as BFP-NCR’s assistant regional director for administration after the closure of the regional bureau on October 9, following the dissolution of the NIR last month.

Trajeras served as regional director of BFP-NIR for 10 months and has initiated several projects, including the creation of satellite training center.
