Bidding for P148-M garbage collection deal set

BACOLOD City Assessor’s Office head Maphilindo Polvora, chairman of Bids and Awards Committee, said the city will hold the bidding 2 p.m. Friday, for the collection, hauling, and disposal of garbage and solid waste management contract amounting to P148 million.

The total amount will cover the services from April up to December.

Polvora said that during the pre-bid conference held two weeks ago, only IPM-Construction and Development Corp. (CDC), the city’s existing garbage hauler, attended.

The city has given a three-month extension of contract of services to IPM-CDC from January to March 2018.

The Pasig City-based IPM Construction and Development Corporation has been the city's garbage collector since September 2016. (TDE)
