THE Bureau of Jail Management and Penology (BJMP) conducted Thursday morning a surprise inspection at the Marikina City Jail as part of the bureau's "Greyhound Operation".
The surprise raid aimed to clear the jail of contraband and prohibited items, said jail warden Jodjie Jonathan Pangan.
However, the inspection team–composed of the BJMP personnel and Marikina City police–did not find prohibited items inside the jail.
Pangan said Greyhound Operation is being conducted thrice a week to assure that no contraband, particularly illegal drugs, are smuggled into the jail facility. (Sunnex)
