THE 9th APM Blitz and Tatluhan Team Rapid Chess Tournament will get underway on February 5 at 10 a.m. at the Damosa Market Basket in Lanang, Davao City.
National Arbiter Ely Acas, on his Facebook post, said participants will compete in the six-round Swiss System format tournament sanctioned by the National Chess Federation of the Philippines.
"Required average rating for the rapid team event must be 2000 while underated players will be given a 1700 provisional rating," Acas added
Participants may also vie in individual blitz events.
The team champion will receive P6,000 and a trophy while the next three winners will pocket P4,000, P2,000 and P1,000, respectively.
Top players in boards one, two and three will take home P600, P500 and P400, respectively.
Registration fee for team event is pegged at P800 while the individual blitz is anchored at P100.
Registration will start at 8 a.m. while matches will begin at 10 a.m.
Interested players may bring their own chess clocks in the event sponsored by Mindanao Chessmates, Damosa Land, and Jubrealle88 Fashion Bags. (ABM)
