Body found in Pulangbato identified

AUTHORITIES said the body found in a grassy lot in Barangay Pulangbato, Cebu City, on Monday morning, July 10, was positively identified as Aireen Adolfo, a 24-year-old call center agent and model.

Senior Inspector Arieza Otida, chief of the Talamban Police Station, told SunStar Cebu that Adolfo was positively identified by her mother, Leah, through an appendectomy scar and the clothes she was wearing when she was last seen.

Adolfo, who hailed from Sitio Dita, Barangay Pulangbato, was carrying a bag with her money, an expensive phone, and an automated teller machine (ATM) card inside it.

The victim took a motorcycle taxi (habal-habal) after leaving their house around 6 p.m., Sunday, July 9, to buy food for dinner. That was the last time she was seen.

Four families, including the Adolfo family, had sought assistance from the Talamban Police in identifying the victim.

The victim was unrecognizable because her face and head were smashed by a rock. Police have launched a manhunt operation against the victim's attacker. (JOB)
