Boeung Ket FC eyes win vs Ceres Negros tonight

CAMBODIA’S Boeung Ket FC will try its best to win against AFC Zonal champion Ceres Negros FC Tuesday night at Panaad Park and Stadium in Bacolod City.

Game time is 7:30 p.m., Tuesday, February 13.

Boeung Ket coach Keo Kosal acknowledged during the press conference Monday at Cabana of Luxur Place that the host squad is strong, but they are ready for the match.

“We are happy to learn and play in other countries and meet other champions in this group stage. Win or lose, we just try our best,” Kosal added.

Coach Risto Vidakovic of Ceres FC said this is their most important game.

After winning two games in the Champions League and losing to China, “the AFC Cup is more important as teams in our group will be pressuring us more,” he added.

After a year with Ceres and being a part of its successes, Risto said he believes in his players working as a team. The composition may vary now and then, but Vidakovic said he is confident that their work ethic and team effort will carry them to the next phase if they keep on winning.

Ceres FC’s next schedule is an away game against Home United FC of Singapore on February 27 at Jalan Besar Stadium. The Busmen will then return to Panaad against Shan United FC of Myanmar on March 6.

On March 14, Shan United will play host to Ceres at Thuwunna Stadium in Myanmar while on April 11 Boeung Ket FC will be home at National Olympic Stadium in Cambodia.

Ceres FC’s final match in Group F will be at Panaad against Singapore's Home United FC on April 25.

AFC Cup, like last season, has 36 teams drawn into nine groups divided into five geographical regions of West Asia, Central Asia, South Asia, Asean and East Asia.

Ceres FC was a quarterfinalist in the 2017 Asean Zone.
