Budget hearings in Negros Occidental set to start

THE marathon hearings on the proposed P2.931-billion budget of the Province of Negros Occidental for 2017 will start on Tuesday, November 8.

Set to appear in the first day are department heads or representatives from the Provincial Board, Office of the Vice Governor, Provincial Accountant’s Office, Internal Auditing Division, Sports Development Program Division, Panaad Park and Stadium, Special Programs and Concerns Division, Public Affairs Section, Negros Occidental Scholarship Program Division, Information and Communication Technology Division, Negros First Cyber Park, and the Negros Occidental Investment and Promotion Center.

Also to be called are heads of the Promotion and Information Section, Provincial Social Welfare and Development Office, Provincial Legal Office, Task Force Ilahas, Provincial Bantay Dagat, Provincial Administrator’s Office, Office of the Governor, Treasurer’s Office, Tourism Division, Procurement Services Division, Negros Occidental Hostel, and the Technology and Livelihood Development Center.

The SP committee on appropriations, budget, finance, ways and means chaired by Second District Board Member Salvador Escalante Jr. has scheduled four budget hearings expected to conclude on November 11.

Of the P2.931-billion budget, P1.187 billion will be allocated for the Hospital Operations Department and P71 million for the Economic Enterprise Development Department. (MPE)
