Bued River system put under JHMC care

THE John Hay Management Corporation (JHMC) in partnership with the Environmental Management Bureau-CAR recently forged a Memorandum of Agreement (MOA) for an “Adopt an Estero / Creek / River / Waterbody” Program.

The signing of the Agreement was made during the 1st Cordillera Environmental Summit 2016 held at the Crown Legacy on July 27, 2016.

The signatories are JHMC president and CEO Dr. Jamie Eloise Agbayani, assistant Secretary for the Environment, Atty. Juan Miguel Cuna and Director Reynaldo Digamo for the Environmental Management Bureau-CAR.

The signing of the MOA was witnessed by the local executives of the various provinces in the Cordillera region as well as the Academe, various industries, civil societies, and government agencies.

All parties will soon prepare for a Comprehensive Action Plan / Work Program for the full implementation of the Agreement.

The JHMC supports the directive of President Rodrigo Duterte in his 1st State of the Nation Address who laid down his concrete plans on climate change, waste management and other critical environmental issues and concerns.

Thus, in line with its mandate to be the leader of environment and forest stewardship in the country, JHMC commits to improve and restore the water quality of its adopted creek particularly the downstream of the Loakan Creek to the convergence of the Bued River through regular clean-ups.

JHMC continues to give back to the community through its corporate social responsibility programs and one with the government on environmental preservation and protection. (JHMC PR)
