Cabudlan, Oporto win in Southern Philippines Unified Marathon

JEROBIN Cabudlan of Panabo Runners Club (PRC) and Cebu-based runner Rhoda Oporto of Paksit Runner clinched titles at the close of 4th Southern Philippines Unified Marathon (SPUM) held in Compostela Valley province, Davao del Norte.

Cabudlan, who also won the Davao Ultramarathon Club (DUC) 59K king recently, registered a total of 10 hours and 43 minutes to annex the male 100K title over Val Lemuel Longino of Team Davao Runners (11:24) and Ramie Amigleo of Sugarcane Trail Ultra Runners (12:41) who grabbed the next two places.

Oporto, for her part, ruled the female category after clocking 13:20.

She raced past Stur's Azenith Balbutin (15:43) and Irish Bedrijo of PLDR (17:10) who finished second and third, respectively.

Meanwhile, Buddy Lloyd Yparraguirre of PRC checked in at 4:44 to clinch the 50k male category, besting his teammates Eduard Masuar and JersonBotea who timed 5:10 and 6:25, respectively.

Mary Ann Javarez crowned herself female 50K champion with a time of 6:07.

She bested Vernaizi Mercado (6:16) and Jennifer Lerio (6:23).
