Campus scribes, poetry enthusiasts to compete in 2nd poetry out loud tilt

CITY OF SAN FERNANDO -- School Press Advisers Movement (Spam) Inc. is set to hold its Second Poetry Out Loud Competition where campus scribes and poetry enthusiasts showcase their self-composed poems.

The activity, scheduled on April 28 in Baguio City, is part of the Fourth Extramural Training: Training the Trainers and Writers.

“Juan Miguel Severo, spoken word poetry and playwright who graced the 1st Poetry Out Loud Competition as a judge, is again expected to perform and serve as a judge in the 2nd Poetry Out Loud,” SPAM President Richard Briones said.

“The competition seeks to keep poetry alive as a form of literary expression. It is one of the highlights of the three-day training of trainers and campus journalists, from April 27 to 29, in crafting the lead and developing the news story, feature writing, basics of copyreading and headline writing, photojournalism, and online journalism,” Briones furthered.

Carrying the theme “Getting into the Stride of Responsible and Innovative Writing,” participants include elementary, high school, and college student journalists and advisers as well as communication, development communication, media arts, journalism, and education students.
