Capitol Lagoon still closed

THE Provincial Capitol Lagoon in Bacolod City is still totally closed for renovation, said Venchito Magalona, Capitol security chief, on Tuesday.

Magalona said that even passing by the Lagoon is prohibited since its parameter fence has been closed since December last year.

Governor Alfredo Marañon Jr. said that Ayala Land Inc. is doing a total makeover of the Lagoon with a budget of P55 million.

It is part of the contract of Ayala Land with the provincial government for the purchase and lease of Capitol properties in Bacolod.

"That is the forte of Ayala, they always have beautiful projects," the governor said.

Magalona said the closure of the Lagoon was done because Ayala's materials are already inside.

The whole Lagoon area will be elevated, and an underground cable is being installed. The fish in the pond will be totally replaced. (TDE)
