Capitol to donate beds, goods to Army hospital

THE Provincial Government of Misamis Oriental will be turning over hospital beds to the Camp Evangelista Station Hospital (CESH) as well as goods for the soldiers wounded in the fighting against extremists in Marawi City this Saturday, August 5.

The Capitol will hold the outreach activity where some 10 hospital beds with linens will be turned over to the CESH through the Misamis Oriental Cares System (MisOrCares).

MisOrCares provincial coordinator Maryden Ocot said the outreach program, especially for the 150 wounded soldiers, is the Capitol's way of expressing its appreciation to the soldiers.

The one-day outreach activity will include activities to entertain the wounded soldiers.

“A lunch buffet will be served to be shared among the wounded soldiers and some personalities from the provincial government who would join the affair,” Ocot said.

The Capitol will also distribute goods such as rice, mugs, towels, shirts, personal care and grocery items to the soldiers recuperating at the Army hospital.

Ocot said the activity is also part of the third anniversary of MisOrCares, the brainchild Governor Yevgeny Emano.

“This activity is indeed necessary,” Emano said.

“Their (soldiers) noble job in securing our land and protecting the people is incomparable. No amount is greater that the sacrifices they have done in order to protect our country,” the governor added.

Ocot said instead of feasting to celebrate the MisOrCares anniversary, the Capitol has decided to spend the time, money and effort to help soldiers.

“This will serve as an avenue to let our military men know that civilian people are appreciative of their hard work especially when it comes to the protection of the nation,” Ocot said.
