Castro, Otañez rule Bacolaodiat tablenet

JOHN Michael Castro and Sheryl Otañez bagged the men’s and women’s open titles, respectively in 2017 Bacolaodiat Table Tennis Championships held on January 27 to 29 at the Lopue's San Sebastian Annex Bldg. in Bacolod City.

Other winners in the men’s open were John Paul Gubaton, first runner-up and Joshua Tolentino, second runner-up while women’s open: Ann Gella Borbon, first runner-up and Catherine de la Cruz, second runner-up.

In the boys beginners: champion - Michael Tancinco; first runner-up – RV Valderama; second runner-up - Joshua Ferrer; girls beginners: champion - Angel Trasporto; first runner-up - Nicole Bomban; second runner-up - Trexie Ann Alarcon;

10 & under boys: champion - Kristian Jason Magallanes; first runner-up - SB Ginete; second runner-up - Dirk Atilano; 10 & under girls: champion - Molly Balendes; first runner-up - Zhea Mae Celestre; second runner-up - Dianah Yapiso;

13 & under boys: champion - Roan Vasquez; first runner-up - Klyde Repullo; second runner-up - Matthew Metoda; 13 & under girls: champion - Micah Tanate; first runner-up - Bliss Suarez; second runner-up - Stephanie Villanueva;

Men’s Executive: champion - Ervin Bomban; first runner-up - Gary Trasporto; second runner-up - Richard Ginete; Veternas Team Play: champion - George Salvallon and J. Pimentel; first runner-up - Msgr. Nick Melicor and Rudy Sy; and second runner-up - Felipe Epitacio and S. Balboa.

The tournament was organized by the Lopue's Table Tennis Association headed by Leonito Lopue together with the Bacolod Sugarlandia Lions Club. (PR)
