Central Luzon police on full alert status

CAMP OLIVAS, Pampanga -- The entire Central Luzon police will be placed on full alert status effective Sunday, April 10, in observance of the Lenten season.

Police Regional Office (PRO)-Central Luzon policemen will provide public safety services to series of activities that will be undertaken by the Roman Catholic Church, said PRO Chief Superintendent Aaron Aquino.

Aquino said he has directed all the provincial and city police directors in Central Luzon to continue to secure all vital installations, economic key points, as well as places of convergence.

“This is to ensure a state operational readiness to deter communist terrorists and other threat groups’ plans and activities in the region,” he said.

Aquino also directed all provincial and city police directors to personally supervise the maximum deployment of PNP personnel on all venues such as churches and beach resorts, among others.

Policemen will also be deployed along national highways in the region to supervise the flow of traffic that will be expected with the influx of passenger buses and private vehicles en route to the provinces.

The Highway Patrol Unit III will also deploy mobile patrols along national highways to help local policemen in the supervision of traffic flow, Aquino said.

Several Philippine National Police “Lakbay Alalay” stations will be placed along national highways in the region to assist commuters. (Ric Sapnu)
