Cepalco: 11-hour blackout to affect Carmen on May 20

THE Cagayan Electric Power & Light Company Inc. (Cepalco) announced an 11-hour power interruption Saturday, May 20, which will affect portions of Carmen village, Cagayan de Oro City.

In its advisory posted on their website, Cepalco will facilitate cross-arm replacement of 69KV and 34.5KV pole structures along Villarin street, Carmen.

The power distribution utility will cut electricity for 11 hours from 7 a.m. to 6 p.m.

Areas affected include Villarin street, Carmen from National Irrigation Authority (NIA) office up to Chinatown including St. Mary's Academy, Sta. Cruz and Coop village, Golden Village, City Hospital-DOH area, COWD reservoir, and Country Village Hotel;

Serina street from Villarin street down to Madonna and Child Hospital; Max Suniel street from Villarin street down towards portion of Mabolo street including Matilde Neri streets, Dabatian street and COC-Phinma area; and portion of Lirio Extension area.

Cepalco said power will be restored immediately after the line works are completed even earlier than scheduled. (Alwen Saliring)
