Ceres FC challenges JPV tonight

FOLLOWING its 4-0 win over Boeung Ket on Wednesday in Phnom Penh for the AFC Cup, Ceres Negros FC is back in the domestic league as it challenges Philippines Football League leader Japanese-bankrolled JP Voltes Marikina tonight at Rizal Memorial Stadium.

Club team manager James Dinsay said that after resting for few days, they will be facing a tough game against JPV.

“They [JPV] are playing very well at the moment but, we know that we can perform well. We will just have to play our game,” he stressed. “We will just be ready and are looking forward to the challenge,” he added.

Dinsay also described their recent win as a good development for the team.

“We certainly knew it wasn’t going to be as easy as our first encounter in Panaad but, we played our game and we were confident we could get a good result. The team played very positive, we kept possession of the ball well, and nobody got injured,” he explained.

Assistant Coach Ian Treyes said playing against JPV is going to be a test of the character having some close results during their previous face-offs last season.

JPV carries a 2-1 card with a pair of wins over Global Cebu FC and Stallion Laguna FC before losing to Kaya FC Iloilo, 1-0.
