Cherrylume downs DIBL All-Stars

WITH most of its members lacking, the eight-member Cherrylume fought their hearts until the very end and came out with a 68-59 victory over the Davao Inter-BPO League (DIBL) All-Stars in the resumption of the Cherrylume-backed Basketball Avenue held at the Gaisano Grand CitimallSkyGym Friday evening.

The services of Ivan and Ian TeEngFo, Jarius Guingguing, Avery and Endrew Lelis, Sherwin Driz and Ryan Josol, the Cherrylume helped Cherrylume advance to the semifinals set Saturday in a still undetermined venue.

The 5-foot-11 Driz dominated the paint and finished with 23 points to pace Cherrylume while Guingguing made up for his first quarter absence with 19 points.

The TeEngFo twins combined for 14 markers but joined the EndrewLelis in the defensive end.

The DIBL All-Stars, coached by Mark de Guzman, gave their best but fell short, resulting to their second straight loss.

Keboy Quijote led the unfortunate All-Stars with 12 points while his teammates Davo Cadano and Mon Honra added 10 and nine points, respectively.

The cagefest is supported by Cherrylume, The Royal Mandaya Hotel, Bearing Center and Machinery, Incorporated, Mahugani Security Agency and the City Government of Davao.

Games will resume today at the Davao Chong Hua, formerly Davao Central High School.
