Chinese Taipei, Singapore take lead in PH Tchoukball Open

WORLD’S top ranked Chinese Taipei and Singapore took over the driver seats in the men and women’s divisions in the ongoing 2017 Philippine Open Tchoukball Invitational at the City Sports Club in Ayala Business Park, Cebu City.

Chinese Taipei crushed erstwhile leader Bacolod Ilahas, 75-37, to complete their eight-game winning streak for 24 points. The Bacolodnons later slipped to 6-2 card for 20 points after dropping its game against Singapore, 43-55.

The Singaporeans are toting a 5-1 card after losing to Chinese Taipei, 66-49, but are on their way to finish in the Top 2 of the elimination as they were playing their last two games as of Friday.

rManila Crickets are hanging around No. 3 with 5-3 record for 18 points.

In the women’s division, Singapore is comfortable on top with a clean 5-0 card followed by Bacolod Ilahas at 4-1, Butanding-Cebu with 3-2, and Manila Crickets with 2-3.

3rd Mayor ‘Tinto’ Bascon bootfest set April 22-23

THE Himamaylan City Football Club (HCFC) will launch its 3rd Mayor Ernesto “Tinto” Bascon Football Festival on April 22 to 23 at the Himamaylan National High School grounds in Bacolod City.

The event, aimed to further provide avenue for football development among the youth, will be held in connection with Himayaan Festival, said club president Jaime Poderoso Jr.

It will feature categories in under-9 (U9) mixed, U11 boys, U13 girls, U16 boys and girls and Men’s Open.

Deadline of confirmation of participation will be on April 12.
