CITY OF SAN FERNANDO -- A local film festival here is now accepting entries for its short film festival competition.

CineKabalen, formerly known as Sinukwan Film Festival, is a local film festival competition that features digital filmmaking "to promote Kapampangan culture and language."

Festival director Jason Paul Laxamana, in a statement sent to Sun.Star Pampanga, said that CineKabalen is a project of the National Commission for Culture and the Arts (NCCA), Angeles City and the Holy Angel University (HAU) Center for Kapampangan Studies.

"Now on its fourth year, the CineKabalen Kapampangan Film Festival (CKFF) is once again calling for entries. Submit your Kapampangan short film for a chance to win P15,000, P8,000 and other awards," Laxamana said in the statement.

The short films should be strictly seven to 13 minutes long and the dialogue should mainly be in the Kapampangan language, with English subtitles. The deadline of submission of entries is on October 20, 2014. Visit www.facebook.com/cinekabalen to read the complete mechanics of the competition. For inquiries, contact 0915 260 1946.
