City Council to tackle filling of vacancies at CAO

The City Council of Bacolod will hold its regular session Tuesday, August 15, instead of Wednesday, and will tackle the filling of vacancies at the City of Agriculture Office (CAO).

Councilor Sonya Verdeflor urged the City Mayor’s Office and the Human Resource Management Services to fill the much-needed vacant positions in the Agriculture Office in order to maximize its operation and functions.

Verdeflor pointed out that the mission of the CAO is to provide effective and quality service to the farmers and fisherfolk of Bacolod and to implement national laws, ordinances, and programs in support to food security program and protection, rehabilitation, and production of coastal marine resources.

Given the numerous concerns of the farmers and the fisherfolk in Bacolod in line with the implementation of the various projects in agriculture, the said department is hard-pressed in providing effective and quality service.

Thus, the need to fill in qualified personnel for the department, Verdeflor added.
