THE City Council of Bacolod and Mayor Monico Puentevella will hold a caucus today regarding the mayor’s request for a P50-million Appropriation Ordinance to fund the various essential needs of the local government.
During their regular session Wednesday, Councilor Roberto Rojas, chairman of the SP Committee on Finance accepted the request sent by Puentevella to pass an Appropriation Ordinance.
The breakdown of the amount will be for donation for P10.4 million; General Services (Personnel – Wages) - P34.6 million; Tourism Development project - P4 million; and other Professional Fees - P1 million.
The budget request will be taken from the CY 2012 Surplus under the General Fund as per certification of city treasurer Annabelle Badajos.
City accountant Eduardo Ravena also certified on the availability of the P50 million.
Rojas, however, said they still need more clarifications on the matter.
They will hold a caucus today with the mayor to settle the issues, he said.
“We want to know regarding the donation. Who will benefit from this donation because it is amounting to P10.4 million. There are no specific details as to his request for appropriation. We will know the details of this request when we all sit down for a caucus,” he said.
Rojas further said on the request for personnel wages, they need to know the details whether this is for job order casuals or plantilla casuals.
“Is the terminal leave benefits of the former casual employees included in his request?,” he asked.
