THE City Government of Zamboanga announced that entries for the Festival Music Composition Contest 2016 are now being accepted.
City Hall Information Officer Belen Sheila Covarrubias said the competition is open to all Chavacano music composers and enthusiasts.
The winning piece will serve as the official soundtrack of the Zamboanga Hermosa Festival 2016 and the performance piece for the street dance competition, Covarrubias said.
The Chavacano Music Composition Contest is one of the activities the City Government has lined up for the Zamboanga Hermosa Festival in October.
The highlight of the festival is the feast day of Our Lady of the Pillar, the most revered saint of Zamboanga City, on October 12.
Last day of submission of the Chavacano music composition is on August 12.
