City Hall satellite office to open in Zamboecozone

THE groundwork is now being laid for the establishment of a satellite City Hall at the Zamboanga Economic Zone and Freeport Authority at San Ramon in the village of Talisayan, Zamboanga City.

The move complements the thrust of Mayor Maria Isabelle Climaco-Salazar to decongest the city proper area and at the same time to bring government closer to the villages.

Salazar said that at least eight offices providing frontline services will be housed in one of the buildings inside the Ecozone compound.

These will included the following offices: City Veterinarian; City Agriculturist; City Health Officer; Civil Registrar; City Social Welfare and Development Office; City Treasurer; City Planning and Development Coordinator; and, the Business Permits and Licensing Office.

Salazar said the Zamboecozone Board has already approved a resolution allowing the establishment of the City Hall satellite office inside the ecozone property.

A memorandum of agreement between the city and the Ecozone will be signed and Salazar is set to issue the corresponding Administrative Order formalizing the set-up.

The establishment of the City Hall satellite office is tentatively set to start in March this year.
