City High rules 104th Charter batted balls

THE 104th Charter Day Batted balls tournament became a Baguio City National High School affair after bagging the secondary baseball and softball championships.

City High A topped the secondary softball competitions with two more teams placing second and third while BCNHS Spirals bagged the secondary softball honors.

The second seeded Spirals after the eliminations round with BCNHS Circles earning the twice to beat advantage going into the finals after topping the elims.

The Circles however bungled their twice to beat advantage losing 6-4 and 4-1 in the championship match in the event was organized by coaches Benson Moga and Albert Baguiwen of Baguio Central School in a bid to let athletes experience fun in playing their respective sports discipline as Pines City National High School bagged third place.

In elementary baseball, Baguio Central School B barely escaped BCS A, 6-5, to win the championship while Quezon Elementary School.

Central School A meanwhile edged Quezon A to win the crown in the elementary softball competition while Quezon B With the success of the Charter day battle ball tournament another follow-up tournament is also in the works spearheaded by the Baguio Batted Balls Club.

Slated tentatively on October 19, a slow pitch tournament is currently in the works at the Baguio Athletic Bowl.

The tournament is in response to the clamor of batted balls aficionados who wanted to stretch some muscles and to have fun and promote slo-pitch in the city.

Teams who confirmed their participation are as follows, Holy Ghost Proper Sports Development Assoc. Inc (HGPSDAI), YLAD, Cresencia Village Batters, DepEd Coaches Baguio and Saint Louis University.
