City of San Fernando launches Tourism Week 2017

CITY OF SAN FERNANDO - A whole day tourism-promotion activities were held yesterday at Vista Mall Event Center to mark the first day of Tourism Week 2017.

The launching of activities was led by Mayor Edwin Santiago, Vice Mayor Jimmy Lazatin, Committee on Tourism, Heritage and Cultural Development Chair and Councilor Harvey Quiwa and City Tourism Officer Ching Pangilinan.

The launching activity included the first public viewing of the Tourism Audio-Visual Presentation which showcased some of the city's best highlights such as its heritage district, the Metropolitan Cathedral of San Fernando and the various local and international business establishments.

The renewal of City of San Fernando Star Card, which gives discounts and privileges on different partner establishments around the city to tourists was likewise presented to the public.

A week-long tourism trade fair featuring local products, and venues and services offered by establishment in the city was also opened to public.

A regional tourism quiz bee, participated in by students from various schools, was also organized by the City Government and Department of Tourism (DOT)-Central Luzon Region.

Santiago lauded the efforts of the City Government to preserve its culture and heritage.

He reiterated his commitment to promote culture and heritage which are on top of the tourism programs of the city.
