City tourism conducts reorientation drive for bar owners

A SERIES of reorientation for various sectors of the tourism industry were organized by the City Tourism and Operation Office (CTOO) in coordination with the Mayor's office to refresh them of their tourism responsibilities and the ordinances created Davao City.

There were around 300 bar and club operators, managers, and party organizers who participated in the reorientation and information drive at the Grand Men Seng Hotel Tuesday, March 21.

A refresher regarding the anti-smoking ordinance, liquor-ban, the prohibition of liquor selling to minors, and anti-drunk driving will be given during the orientation.

“This is to remind everybody about their role,” City Tourism Office Head Generose Tecson said.

In a previous interview, Tecson said a slight violation of these ordinances was observed.

“We’re going to go back to the basics. We’re going to talk to everybody about their responsibilities to tourism and the ordinances created in the city. We’re starting with club and bar operators,” she added.

A reorientation and information drive involving the operators and managers of restaurants and travel agencies will follow.

Tecson said this drive is part of the CTOO’s long-term plans to sustain the tourism in the city even after huge events like Araw ng Dabaw.
