CLARK FREEPORT -- The Civil Service Commission (CSC) has set its next examination on March 18, 2018 at its testing centers in Central Luzon.
This was learned from CSC Pampanga Field Office Director Dulce Cochon during the Talk Widus media forum of the Pampanga Press Club (PPC) at the Widus Hotel and Casino.
Cochon said that the Pampanga Field Office has announced the opening for the March 2018 pen and paper test.
“The opening of the application will only be on November 16. We only have until January to accept applications and upon completing the number of examinees we will be arranging already the conduct of the examination itself,” Cochon said.
Regular testing centers which are twice a year are in the provinces of Pampanga, Bulacan and Nueva Ecija, she added.
“But the provinces of Bataan and Aurora are examination centers for the first sem. And the second sem we have together with Bataan, Nueva Ecija and Bulacan, we have Olongapo in Zambales and Tarlac which is already a testing center just last year,” Cochon said.
In 2016, there were 23,000 examinees for the professional and sub-professional category but only 3,000 passed the civil service test. “Ganun po kababa ang passing rate natin,” the CSC official said.
Cochon disclosed that majority of examinees who passed the previous examinations are fresh graduates of tertiary courses.
“Nagte-trending po kasi kami no. Majority of those who passed are those who recently graduated. Medyo matagal kana, hindi kana nagbabasa puro Facebook ka na lang,” Cochon said.
Pampanga is the largest province in Central Luzon with 74 government agencies -- 23 local government units, four local colleges, 36 national government agencies and 13 water districts, according to Cochon.
Positions under these agencies pass through the CSC specifically at the Pampanga Field Office, she said.
