CMO spikers beat CSSDO in 2 sets

THE Davao City Mayor's Office (CMO) pulled off a 25-22, 25-5 win over Davao City Social Services and Development Office (CCSDO) to secure the second seed in bracket A in the last round of eliminations of the City Government Employees Sports Festival 2017 volleyball competition held at the Almendras Gym Davao City Recreation Center on Tuesday, September 19.

CMO leaned on the services of Josylea Ortizo who fueled a nine-point rally in the second set for a total of 12 points in the game.

Red Alaud also helped the team reach the crossover semifinals, set today and tomorrow, through his well-timed attacks for a total of nine points.

CMO coach Jobo Garduque, in an interview with SunStar Davao, hopes they will earn a semifinals berth.

"Mag pa-practice lang kami after the game tulad ng ginagawa namin palagi," Garduque said, adding that their teamwork paved the way for them to advance as he cited the efforts of Alaud, Shane Juson, Joan Sanoy, Irene Madayano and Sunshine Fajardo.

The Davao City Administrator's Office, meanwhile, recovered from a first set loss to beat Davoa Davao City Engineer's Office, 22-25, 25-23, 25-18, to snatch the Bracket A top position in the event sanctioned by the Balibolista de Dabaw.

The event is presented by the Human Resource Management Office in coordination with the Sports Development Division of the City Mayor's Office and Davao City Hall Employees Association.
