THE Commission on Elections (Comelec) in Davao Region is expecting over three million registered voters who will vote come barangay and Sangguniang Kabataan (SK) elections day in the region.
In a data obtained from the Comelec-Davao, it stated that there are 3,775,533 registered voters' coming from 1,162 barangays in Davao region — of which 2,800,614 are adults and 974,919 are youth.
Out of the 3,775,533 voters, there are 1,223,575 in Davao City, 530,036 in Davao del Sur, 230,901 in Davao Occidental, 741,082 in Davao del Norte, 589,685 in Compostela Valley, and 460,254 in Davao Oriental province.
It also noted 37,648 established precincts and 1,438 voting centers. Of the total centers, 268 are in Davao City, 241 in Davao del Sur, 130 in Davao Occidental, 271 in Davao del Norte, 286 in Compostela Valley, and 242 in Davao Oriental.
Comelec-Davao City spokesperson Omar Samama said the poll body is all set for the May 2018 elections.
In Comelec Resolution 10246, the filing of certificates of candidacy will be on April 14 to 20, while the campaign period is slated May 4 to 12. The election will be on May 14.
