THE Regional Trial Court Branch 4 of Panabo City issued a no bail bond warrant of arrest for self-confessed Davao Death Squad member Edgar Matobato in connection to the Sali Muck Doom kidnapping case in 2000.
Presiding Judge Dorothy Montenegro-Gonzaga on Tuesday, June 20, issued the warrant of arrest.
Previously, the Panabo Prosecutor's Office recommended the filing of charges against Matobato and a certain Sonny Custodio for kidnapping Muck Doom in Samal.
The case was connected to the complaint filed by Mirasol Marquez, common-law wife of Muck Doom, who was killed on November 9, 2000.
Matobato admitted during the September 15, 2016 Senate inquiry that he killed Muck Doom as ordered by then Mayor of Davao City, President Rodrigo Duterte.
National Bureau of Investigation Acting Regional Director Atty. Arnold Rosales said that they are still seeking for the whereabouts of Matobato.
"Hinahanap pa rin at nag dagdag ng tauhan 'yung task force namin na maghanap sa dalawang fugitives," Rosales said.
