CITY OF SAN FERNANDO -- The North Luzon Expressway (NLEX) Corporation has announced that payment of toll fees can now be made using Mastercard credit and debit cards, Beep Card and Radio Frequency Identification or RFID when entering and exiting NLEX and the Subic-Clark-Tarlac Expressway (SCTEX) in Central Luzon.
NLEX Corporation President Rodrigo Franco said that the system can be used in 32 tollgates from Marilao in Bulacan and Balintawak in Metro Manila and northbound NLEx exits going to Central Luzon, including Mindanao Avenue, Valenzuela, Lawang Bato, Libtong, and Meycauayan.
Next year, the system could also be used by motorists coming from Central Luzon to Metro Manila from the Sta. Ines toll in Mabalacat City, Pampanga up to the Bocaue Toll Plaza.
The same would be implemented in 2018 at the 94-kilometer SCTEX stretch from Subic to Tarlac, according to Franco.
The “swipe” system at the tool booths are seen to provide ease and convenience to NLEX and SCTEX users, he said. (JTD)
