CSF is Central Luzon's best BPLS implementer

THE City Government of San Fernando was once again recognized as Central Luzon’s most successful local government unit in the institutionalization of business permits and licensing system by the Central Luzon Growth Corridor Foundation, Incorporated (CLGCFI) last April 15, 2016.

Mayor Edwin Santiago received the award during the 10th Recognition of Outstanding LGUs Implementing the Streamlining Program in the Issuance of Mayor’s Permit held at Holiday Inn Hotel, Clarkfield Pampanga.

San Fernando was recognized for its “institutionalized efforts” in fostering an investor-friendly environment and encouraging the growth of business and investments by reducing the turnaround time and cost of doing business in the issuance of business permits and licenses.

As the region’s fastest LGU in processing business documents, the city now houses more than 8,000 businesses.

The City Government was also named as a finalist in the search for Best LGU in Customer Relations and Most Outstanding LGU for I.T. Innovations.

Meanwhile, the National Competitiveness Council of the Philippines awarded plaques of recognition to the city for leading the Cities and Municipalities Competitiveness Index wherein San Fernando was rated in the following criteria: Economic Dynamism, 10th place; Government Efficiency, 3rd place; Infrastructure Development, 5th place; 2nd place in the Overall Competitiveness Component City category.

“I am very happy for this award, this means that all our efforts are effective but we do not stop here, this will serve as springboard for us to improve our performance and prepare ourselves for the opportunities brought by ASEAN integration” said Mayor Santiago.

He disclosed that the city is vying for the second hall of fame award of the Philippine Chamber of Commerce and Industry Most Business Friendly LGU. (CSF-CIO)
