AN OFFICIAL of the Department of Agrarian Reform (DAR) said they are hastening the distribution of lands to Agrarian Reform Beneficiaries (ARBs) in the Zamboanga Peninsula.
DAR Regional Director Julita Ragandang said it is in line with the standing directive of DAR Secretary Rafael Mariano to help alleviate the plight of the farmers.
Ragandang said they have so far distributed 327 hectares land to 210 ARBs in the region since January until June this year.
The 327 hectares of land were distributed in the following areas and the corresponding ARB recipients: 32 hectares in Zamboanga del Norte with 23 ARB-recipients, 158 hectares in Zamboanga del Sur with 117 ARBs, and 137 hectares in Zamboanga Sibugay 137 with 70 ARB-beneficiaries.
Ragandang said they have been tasked to distribute 1,160 hectares of land to the ARBs this year. (Bong Garcia/SunStar Philippines)
