Davao mayor not interested to sue Trillanes

DAVAO City Mayor Sara Duterte-Carpio said she is not interested in suing Senator Antonio Trillanes IV.

Duterte-Carpio said the senator is apparently just gathering rumors and making up stories out of these with regards the senator's accusation that the mayor's husband is linked with the alleged Davao Group that Trillanes is trying hard to pin down.

"I don't know, but kini sigurong mga chismis lang iyahang gitahi-tahi and then iyahang gihimoan ug istorya (he put together rumors and made a story out of it)," she said.

Trillanes dragged the name of Vice Mayor Paolo Duterte and lawyer Manases Carpio, the mayor’s husband, in the P6.4-billion shabu that was illegally shipped in the country from China.

Former Bureau of Customs (BOC) intelligence service chief Neil Estrella, who appeared during the blue ribbon committee hearing on the shabu shipment, confirmed that he saw Carpio visiting former Customs Commissioner Nicanor Faeldon's office.

"Kami ni Attorney Mans dili mi naga-istorya about our respective work so wala ko nagasulti sa iya unsa akong trabaho dinha sa City Hall and siya wala pod naga-istorya sa iyang trabaho para sa iyahang mga kliyente (We don't talk about our respective work. I do not talk to him about my work in City Hall and he also does not talk about his work with his clients)," Duterte-Carpio said.

Laywer Carpio had earlier admitted that he goes to the BOC, but only because he has clients that have dealings with that office.

He even labeled the senator as a "desperate rumormonger who happens to be a senator."
