DAVAO City Mayor Sara Duterte-Carpio will grace the commemoration of the first anniversary of the September 2 Roxas night market bombing on Thursday, August 31.
The Davao City Information Office confirmed the chief local executive's attendance on the Mass that will start at 4 p.m. at the Roxas Night Market blast site.
The incident claimed 15 lives and wounded 69.
The families of those who died and survivors are expected to join the event.
A total of 46 victims are from Davao City while others are living in nearby provinces.
Last August 11, 2017, the Davao City Government distributed financial assistance to victims and family members who underwent training through the City Social Services and Development Office.
The financial assistance worth P50,000 were handed over to some 68 qualified individuals.
The cash assistance was sourced from donations in the trust fund deposited in a Land Bank account named under the city.
