THE Davao City Police Office (DCPO) claims 90 percent accomplishment in their target of 12,000 house visitation in the expanded version of their anti-illegal drug campaign dubbed as Oplan Double Barrel Alpha (Odba).

In Wednesday's regular forum at the Royal Mandaya Hotel, DCPO Deputy Director for Operation Ireneo Caburnay said that since the expanded campaign started last October 26, the 12 station commanders has been relentless in their effort to visit different houses in the city.

To date, around 9,000 have already visited not only in inner city settlements but also in high-end subdivisions.

“As of now, we are in 90 percent,” Superintendent Caburnay said.

The timeline of their target will end on December 31, 2016, and they are now intensifying their efforts to achieve their quota.

Caburnay said that since the Oplan Tokhang (knock and plead) was upgraded to Odba, it has not only been targeted for house visits on drug suspects but in areas where drug proliferate to spread the word about its evils.

The police officers distribute information materials like flyers that contain emergency hotline numbers, information about the government campaign against illegal drugs and the effects of illegal drugs.

“Sa ngayon, yong Oplan Double Barrel Alpha, before kasi yong pagkakaalam natin pag tinokhang tayo involve tayo sa drugs, ngayon information dissemination,” he said. “Tinokhang kayo, binisita kayo just to inform about drugs na bawal ito kasi marami sa atin ang hindi aware.”

Meanwhile, in the accomplishment report on the campaign against illegal drugs from January to November, DCPO have 746 positive operations conducted and 1,053 persons arrested, of which pusher (799), user (239) and minor (15) while 1,222 cases have already filed. They also confiscated a total of 10,259.21 grams of marijuana and 2,151.306 grams of crystal meth (shabu).
