Davao to distribute livelihood aid for blast victims

THE Davao City Government is set to distribute on Friday, August 11, the livelihood assistance for the victims of the Roxas night market blast who underwent livelihood training through the Davao City Social Services and Development Office.

Davao City Mayor's Office chief-of-staff lawyer Raul Nadela, in an interview on Tuesday, August 8, said that P50,000 will each be distributed to 81 to 83 beneficiaries.

He said that they really want the public know of such distribution since it is sourced from people's donations.

"Dili man gud ni kwarta sa city conduit lang man ang city ani kay kwarta mani sa public naka-raise man ta ug around 8 to 9 million from donation (This is not the money of the city, it is the public's money. We have raised around P8 million to P9 million from the donations)," he said.

Nadela added that the money was used for the continuing livelihood assistance and medicines.

"Last Monday we have paid P67,000 for a follow-up operation of one patient so it is sourced from that fund," he said.

Nadela added that the funds have not run out yet but there are donors who are asking to exhaust their donation so that they can report it.

"We have allocated around P7 million but it is still not totally used up," he said.
