Davraa-bound athletes studying at quarters

AS PREPARATIONS for the Davao Region Athletic Association (Davraa) Meet 2018 shift to high gear, Department of Education (DepEd) Davao City Division sources said they still prioritize the studies of the student-athletes who are attending the quartering at the Mabini Elementary School.

Davraa Meet-bound athletes are training more than three hours a day from 5:30 a.m. to 9:30 a.m. in their respective venues.

After their practices, students must return to Mabini Elementary School to continue the lessons from their respective schools through modular study.

Since coaches assigned on each sport are also teachers, they will teach student-athletes the lessons on the modules provided.

The athletes train six times a week from Monday to Saturday but Sunday is intended for family day.

However, only students who will be fetched by their parents or guardians may leave the quartering premises while others will have to stay behind.

Davao City is all set to defend its overall championship in the regional qualifying for the Palarong Pambansa 2018 in May in Vigan City.
