DBP launches bills payment facility

THE Development Bank of the Philippines (DBP) has partnered with utility companies to better service clients.

DBP Executive Vice President Anthony Robles announced Baguio Water District (BWD) and Benguet Electronic Cooperative (Beneco) consumers can now pay their water and electric bills through the bank “The Bills payment is worth for the consumer’s convenience, connection efficiency and multiple channel.”

Last week, the signing of Memorandum of Agreement enabled DBP through a bills payment facility to accept Beneco and BWD payments through the DBP Automated Teller Machine (ATM) Card.

There are 4,000 card holders in Baguio City who can pay through the 14 DBP bayad centers and through the 628 ATMs nationwide.

Robles said the DBP intends to have maximum efficiency in the billing collection “We will not charge the water district, electric coop, and clients advantage sign up for us as the need arise we will deploy more ATMs in the city as a commitment by DBP.”

Project conceptualization came up with the notion which the regional water district and electronic coop can also enjoy the same privilege and same opportunity enjoyed by big companies like PLDT, Meralco, Smart, and Globe.

BWD General Manager Engr. Salvador Royeca said with the new scheme customers can avoid long lines and enjoy convenience and security.

BENECO General Manager Gerardo Versoza said there are 130,000 clients the cooperative has in Baguio City alone “Actually we’re into automation adoption of technologies all in our operations were already into new technologies. We want to have an improve system towards of course through improved agencies.”

Versoza continued “I have a high confidence level on the system of DBP and I hope they will be a lot of improvement on the system kasi they will be force to do it because of this ATM, that would be there lookout.”
