A LADY lawyer on her way to attend a hearing on a land case at the Department of Agrarian Reform (DAR) Office in Digos City around 2:30 p.m. Tuesday was shot by an unidentified gunman. She survived the attack.
Lawyer Vivian Garen Rubia, 50, was driving her vehicle approaching the DAR office when a gunman riding a motorcycle shot her.
Police Officer 3 Joie Pansan, investigator of Digos City Police Office, said Rubia was hit on the upper left side of her chest.
She was able to speed off to Digos City Medical Center for treatment was declared out of danger by doctors.
Her companion, Lorna Ondangan, was able to jump out of the vehicle and flee unhurt.
Police suspect the attack has something to do with the land dispute she is handling, but investigation is still ongoing.
